Dear Friends
It has been brought to my notice lately that there are quite a few people who would like information on everyday church activities. This is especially so for parents with new babies and newcomers to the Parish who want to be involved in church life.
Firstly, I want to say that, as a church community, we want to welcome you with open arms! We want you to be part of our caring and loving church family. We want to be of assistance to you, in any way possible at all stages of your life. There is no substitute for the kind of care and love that we humans can show to each other. If you are miles from immediate family it is good to know that the church cares and is ready to be of help at all times.
We meet many of our parishioners through Marriage and Baptism, not necessarily in that order! David, our Vicar is always ready to discuss the needs of each individual and to try and make their wishes come true.
For instance, Baptisms or Christenings can take place after the Sunday morning service, during the service and at the Family Service. Sometimes the Vicar may agree to hold a Baptism on a day other than Sunday. It all depends on circumstances, individual wishes and if he is available.
Marriages are always a time of great rejoicing, when couples decide to make their relationship permanent and especially so when they come to have their vows blessed by God. Incidentally, church weddings are not that expensive. Have a chat with the Vicar.
We also meet and come to love many during the difficult times in their lives, when illness strikes or when a loved one dies. We pray every week in church for those who are going through hard times and like to know when anyone is in hospital or has other trouble.
